Grim Linker GUI can be used as a standalone interface for many simple miscellaneous tasks, such as remoting a pc using VNC. The Grim Linker GUI can be used as a standalone interface for many simple miscellaneous tasks, such as remoting a pc using VNC (VNC will be pushed to the machine and remotely started), rebooting, logging users off, and locking work stations. It can also be used to "Telnet" to pc's and run commands remotely. The "Telnet" functionality is provided by a standalone application called "ReXeCutioner". ReXeCutioner is a C application, and is the underlying application that provides the "Remote" functionality. This application and functionality can be used completely seperate from "The Grim Linker". ReXeCutioner is a modified version of xCMD. This new version adds some functionality missing from the original version. This functionality being the ability to launch GUI applications visible on the remote computer. The ability to choose to run commands under your credentials or the System accounts credentials. Also the credentials passed accross the network to startup the remote service are no longer sent in plain text. The credentials are XOR'd. Encryption will be added in the near future, but for now this simple masking should be adequate. To run your scripts remotely, a simple setup is required. Using the package editor which comes with The Grim Linker, you will create a package list file that contains two lines for each script you want to run remotely. The two lines consist of a title line and a UNC/URL path line pointing to the file which contains The Grim Linker script to run. This file is loaded into The Grim Linker. Once the file is loaded, the GUI will show the title line of each script, giving you the option to select each script to run. The scripts can be selected in any combination and any order. Within The Grim Linker script commands that are available within the package editor can be inserted. You also insert the path and command line to any .bat, .cmd, .vbs, or any other executable which you desire to run remotely.
